Custom Foot Orthotics

Cost:

Private Pay $325.00 (we no longer bill insurance for orthotics)

This covers the cost of the orthotic device only. Patients and customers are still responsible for the office visits which typically runs $90.00.-120.00 (insurance will be billed for the evaluation if possible). With these costs combined we are one of the most cost effective custom orthotic companies you can find in the Northwest. Even if your insurance does not have orthotic coverage you can many times run the office visit through your insurance or submit the receipts yourself for possible reimbursement.

What are Orthotics?

In layman's terms, you may think of them simply as arch supports or shoe inserts. However, they are actually much more than that. Orthotics are orthopedic devices made to: treat or adjust abnormal foot motion; provide support, stability, and control. They will increase an individual's balance, help to absorb shock, and relieve pressure on uncomfortable or sore spots. It is important to remember that your feet are the foundation of your body. The orthotic is rarely the singular fix and most commonly core and hip stability are a large part of the healing equation.

How are Orthotics made?

Orthotics are casted digitally in a non-weight bearing position. The digital casts are sent to our lab in Nappa California where they begin preparation and production almost immediately. Orthotics are currently created in about 2 weeks.

Are Orthotics the same as an insole?

Most store bought inserts (also called insoles) are fabricated from nothing more than different density cellular sponge and/or foam rubber materials. They may provide some shock absorption, but little (if any) biomechanical control or support. If you can bend an insert in half, it is nothing more than an insole. Lake Washington Physical Therapy with Prolab manufactures true custom-orthotics, not rubber insoles. As an added convenience we do carry Superfeet on site if you are interested in trying an off the shelf option.

How long will it take to get my Orthotics?

Approximately 7-10 business days. Orthotics casts are scanned via our state of the art digital scanner and emailed directly to the lab. This cuts down wait time by about 7 days. Your therapist will give you an approximate time for pick-up at which time you will have as scheduled therapy visit to be fit and a preliminary test of the orthotic will begin. Allow for more time near holidays as our lab observes all federal holidays.

Can Orthotics be refurbished?

Yes. We recommend having them refurbished every 18 months or as wear indicates. There is a small fee for the refurbish ($50.00) but it is cheaper than the original pair and can extend the life of the orthotics as well as allow it to continue to deliver performance.
